Welcome
A small church that has stayed put
Norwegian settlers organized Immanuel in 1886, when Becker County was still being broken to the plow. The congregation joined the Evangelical Lutheran Synod in 1930, built the church that stands today in 1970, and has kept the same Sunday habit ever since: confession and absolution, the readings, a sermon that preaches Christ, and the Sacrament at the rail.
We are not large. On a good Sunday you can count the room. That means a visitor is noticed, welcomed, and handed a hymnal by someone who will find you at coffee afterward. If you have never been in a Lutheran service, nothing is expected of you but to come and listen.
Whether you have kept this faith your whole life, drifted from it, or are working out what Christians actually believe, there is a seat here for you this Sunday.

One parish, two congregations
One pastor, two country churches, thirty-five miles apart
Since 2019, Immanuel in Audubon and Calvary Lutheran Church in Ulen have shared a pastor, Rev. John Merseth Sr., who preaches at both every Sunday morning. Members of either congregation are welcome at the other.
